The pub calls itself “a traditional market-town pub in Petersfield” with homemade food, and pours London Pride, HSB and Gales Seafarers. Its Christmas Day 2026 menu is £96 for three courses, starting with a glass of Prosecco.

Mains are turkey with pigs in blankets, blade of beef, or a brie, cranberry and chestnut Wellington, with petit fours, tea and coffee to finish. The children’s Christmas Day menu is £45.

For December parties, the Christmas party menu is £29 for two courses or £36 for three, and a Christmas buffet is £15 a head for 20 or more.

2. Seven Stars, Stroud

The Seven Stars is on Winchester Road at Stroud, just west of the town, and its Christmas page promises “crackling fires” and says four-legged guests are looked after too. The Christmas Day menu is £112.50 for three courses with a blood orange sorbet between starter and main.

Mains include turkey paupiette, lamb noisette, stone bass, aged rump steak and a beetroot Wellington. The children’s version, for ages 10 and under, is £35.

A Celebration menu runs from 18 November at £38.50 for three courses.

3. The Thomas Lord, West Meon

The Thomas Lord, named after the founder of Lord’s cricket ground who is buried in West Meon churchyard, describes itself as a “beautifully restored traditional village pub” with bedrooms. Its Christmas page has a five-course Christmas Day at £125, starting with Buck’s Fizz and canapés; the menu lists hand-dived scallops, beef Wellington and slow-cooked goose breast.

Under-12s are £49.95 and under-6s £24.95. The festive menu runs from 25 November to 24 December at £39 for two courses or £45 for three.

Breakfast with Santa is on 5 and 19 December, £9.95 a child and £15.95 an adult.

4. Hen & Chicken Inn, Upper Froyle

The Hen & Chicken is at Upper Froyle, between Alton and Farnham. Its Christmas page offers a five-course Christmas Day with a drink on arrival for £120 a head, with traditional roast turkey, fillet steak, pan-seared halibut or a roasted vegetable Wellington, then tea or coffee and a mince pie.

The pub says bookings made before 6 November 2026 get 15% off. Its Christmas party menu, with roast turkey, confit duck leg, salmon and a “Mingle Jingle Burger”, is £30 for two courses and £36 for three.

5. The Swan, Alton

The Swan on Alton High Street is a Greene King pub and hotel. Its Christmas Day 2026 page has a three-course menu at £89.95, the lowest Christmas Day price in this guide; mains include a roast, 10-hour slow-cooked beef cheeks, sea bass with king prawns and marmalade-glazed lamb rump.

The children’s Christmas Day menu is £34.95, and there is a separate menu with no gluten-containing ingredients. Greene King’s terms say no booking is confirmed until menu choices and the deposit are in.

6. The Queens Head, Sheet

The Queens Head is on Village Street in Sheet, a short walk north of Petersfield, and also runs a pizza takeaway. Its Christmas 2026 menu is £29 for two courses or £34 for three, with crackers, and runs from 26 November to 20 December, Wednesday to Sunday.

Mains include lamb rump steak with salsa verde, a pulled turkey burger with brie and cranberry, a Thai-marinated tuna steak, a Moroccan festive bake, or a pizza from the menu. A festive party sharing menu is £25 a head for 12 or more.

7. The Jolly Drover, Hill Brow

The Jolly Drover is a pub with rooms on the London Road at Hill Brow, on the Hampshire and Sussex border above Liss, and describes its restaurant as family friendly. Its Christmas menu, uploaded in October 2026, is £34 for two courses or £39 for three, with roast turkey crown, braised beef featherblade with a Stilton crumble, pan-fried sea trout, or a cashew and butternut squash roast.

8. The Trooper Inn, Froxfield

The Trooper Inn is at Froxfield, between Petersfield and Alton, with rooms, free parking and, it says, a helipad. Its website has a Christmas menu running throughout December at £40 for two courses or £50 for three, with roast turkey and the trimmings among the mains and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

It pitches the menu at company parties and team lunches. Note the weekday hours: food is evenings only from Tuesday to Thursday, and it is closed on Mondays.
